GREEN CALCULATOR

The greenness of a product or process is measured against a neutral background of what would exist in nature without it. That’s what the Green Calculator does — perform a measurement against the background of Nature.

The measurements are provided in two forms, the amount of energy in BTUs needed to produce the item and the amount of pollutants that are produced. The second number can be further analyzed in terms of BTUs by estimating the amount of energy needed to “neutralize” the effects of the pollutants.
